Logan at 2

So I wanted to do a post describing Logan at 2 years old so that IF I ever print a blog book for 2009, 2010 and 2011 - I'll have one post ready for my 2012 book ;) Yea, I'm working on it.

Logan's 2 year old stats: weighed 24 lbs 13 oz (I soooo wanted him to break 25 lbs... he's in the 13th percentile) and 33 inches tall (15th percentile) and his last head measurement leaves him in the 80th percentile. Little body - big head! :) He's still wearing 18-24 month clothes and they are still a little big. Most of his 12-18 shirts and pajamas still fit but I put them away because he'd been wearing them for close to a year and I was tired of seeing them. I hope he can start wearing his 2T clothes soon because he received a TON of clothes for his birthday and they are REALLY cute!.

Smarts: His big ol' head holds lots of brains. Logan is a quick learner and amazes us everyday with his new phrases and ideas. He can identify all of his letters - he's definitely better at the capital letters over the lowercase ones. He's starting to learn the letter sounds - probably about 15-20 letters so far. Logan can rote count to 17 and can rational count to 5. Teacher say what?? haha (I just realized everyone probably doesn't use those words to describe different types of counting - but he can count off  1, 2, 3, all the way to 17 & he counts 1car, 2 car, 3car up to 5.)

Talkin' Talkin': Logan um... doesn't shut up. Ever. He talks allllllll the time and it's sentences now. He's pretty clear too - most strangers can understand him. Some my favorite Logan-isms are excuse me (cum zee), Nemo (me-no), Eagles (seagulls - my beach boy) - he doesn't have many of those mess-up words that are so cute. (And today I heard him say suze me instead of cum zee and I got a little sad.) He's definitely growing up fast. He's had really good manners too. It surprises people when they hear him say thank you, sorry, excuse me, you're welcome, bless you - at the right time!! Because he's sooo small, it just seems strange. lol Logan started using some phrases that make Josh and I laugh - he'll ask "Why not?" and we never answer him - just laugh. ;) And he'll say, "Ouch, that hurt my foot!" or "I'm all done and ready to play!" The complete sentences are just funny! When he wakes up - he'll yell from his bed "I'm awake!!"

Eats: Oh, eating... some days Logan eats ALL day long. And some days, I beg him to eat oatmeal before bed so he doesn't wake up hungry at 2 A.M. His favorites are oatmeal, cereal (can eat bowl after bowl - just like his parents on that one), waffles, pancakes, yogurt. All breakfast foods? Yup. Some days he eats breakfast 3 times a day. He likes lots of fruits, hot dogs, chicken, cheese, and pasta too tho. And he LOVES m&ms, ice cream, popsicles, and lollipops. When we give Logan a McDonalds happy meal he will eat the apples and then MAYBE eat 1/2 of the cheeseburger and a few fries. Who is this kid??

Playin': Right now, Logan is usually seen with a wheeled toy in each hand. Either a car, truck, tractor, monster truck, train - but it always has wheels ;) He went through a Cars phase where he wanted to watch it all day every day... eventually I gave in and we watched it twice a day for 4 days in a row and it finally broke his obsession. Whew. He likes to race his cars, and make them fly. Logan still loves to play baseball and football and loves to be outside. He likes to ride his new riding toys but after a few minutes he wants to just go for a walk or run around. He's starting to play with Keegan now and likes having him around. I love hearing them giggle together over silly things. Logan loves the beach and the pool and will be very sad when summer officially comes to an end. And he still loves books and will always ask me to snuggle him with stories. How can you say no to that? :)

A Big Boy: I never did a post about it, but we potty trained Logan at 18 months. It was a really easy process, he picked it up really quick. After a few weeks, I officially called him potty-trained. We left a pull-up on at night for a few months (just as insurance) but he always woke up and we took him potty in the middle of the night if he had to. A few months ago we ran out of pull-ups so we skipped a night and he stayed dry and I never went and bought more. One night I put a leftover diaper on him because we were out late and he'd been drinking from his cup pretty late at night - and he made me take it off "Don't like it! Itchy" is what he told me. Haha. Logan is also a pro at going to nursery at church. He gets so excited when we tell him it's time for church. He has a cute friend Aubrey that makes nursery much more fun! :) He also says the sweetest prayers at night before bed, "Dear... Heavenly Father... thank you... for.... family. Bless Mommy, Daddy, Keegan, Logan. Name... Jesus Christ Amen."

I realize that was alot of writing about Logan and probably should have warned this was a wordy post. But I'm going to eventually print that book. ;) ha, yea right.
